After paying an annual subscription to the guardian, I still see advertising after I sign in to my account on the pages of the newspaper, which I loath and detest, and paid not to see, therefore I shall not be renewing my subscription. Further, I tried to sort it out with their customer service, which could not solve the problem and is a totally useless service.

Fantastic journalism, but I found your contents too extreme with regard to Lgbtq+, feminism, sexism and atheism.
  • Excellent:fair, balanced, informative.

I read it daily, have been for years. It’s simply one of the 3/4 best news sources in the world. If I had one criticism it would be on the editorial side, news items are too seldom put in relationship with each other, and editorials are often just opinion, not editorial opinion. And opinions which are especially subjective or even biased are not put into context so the reader is left to draw its own opinion and with the curiosity of exactly why there particular opinions where selected for publishing. But really this is being constructively nitpicking, as the overwhelming breadth and stature of the writing is excellent. Oh, yes, one thing grates: the writer that handles the titles is often punning for it’s own sake, and often incurring in “incorrect reference” so that use of two different subjects in the title can be read in opposite ways. The syntax goes by the way board as well as what the author of the article actually meant. Not fair either to the reader or to the author…often both.

The Guardian has become the last and the only daily worth reading bar none, in any language . I agree with this statement. I am very grateful to all the people who make that daily encounter with the world worthwhile, news being good or bad, but always giving the feeling that the only bias if there were to be one, is that of human empathy and decency. You might wonder why I don’t suscribe regularly. In fact I have several times, and ocasionally given money - and I will do it again - but, for some reason, after my subscription runs out, since it doesn’t automatically renew itself, I forget to do so. I plan to make up for it this month - and also to give extra support.
